For the past two years, Eamonn, 64, has been battling debilitating chronic pain, which has significantly impacted his mobility, sometimes requiring him to use a wheelchair and a walking stick.

Ruth, also 64, who previously co-hosted This Morning with her husband, spoke to Woman’s Weekly, sharing her sentiments about the situation. She mentioned, “I look at Eamonn, who’s had his health and back problems, and it makes you realize how important your health is.”
The Road to Recovery
Expressing uncertainty about Eamonn’s complete recovery, Ruth said, “I don’t know how much Eamonn’s mobility will improve. He does the physio, but there might have to be some acceptance that this might never be 100 per cent right.”

Discussing the challenges of being a caregiver, Ruth emphasized the importance of helping loved ones in need. She highlighted the difficulties that arise in such situations but also mentioned the significance of family support, stating, “It’s testing, but we manage as a family.”
