His new move kinda signifies this, as he’s listed his “New Country/State Usually Resident” as America on Companies House filings in June last year.
End of Royal Duties for Prince Harry
Even after stepping down as a senior member of the Royal Family, Harry had continued to list the UK as his primary home. However, in February, Harry lost his case against Home Office, and earlier this month, he was denied the right to appeal on just the first step of his journey.
Estrangement from the Royal Family
Royal experts say he opted to change his country of residence because of the level of estrangement currently existing between him and several members of the Royal Family. Speaking to Central Recorder’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Simon Vigar claimed Harry not being invited back into the Royal Fold in spite of the health challenges signified that he’s done as far as royal duties are concerned.
Breakdown in Relationship with Prince William
At the time, there were reports Harry had suggested to come back and help out, but that Prince William blocked him. Vigar said: “Prince Harry doesn’t have a pigeon hole or a desk at St James’ Palace for correspondence but I think that reflects the estrangement. The very big estrangement with William, there doesn’t seem to be any repair to that relationship, sadly.”
Disentangling from the UK
Some are suggesting that changing his country of residence is only the beginning when it comes to Harry fully disentangling himself from the UK. The royal titles might be the next to go. Possible?
