PLANNED strikes of postal workers over the next two week have been canceled following a legal challenge.
Royal Mail lawyers have written to the Communication Workers Union highlighting their concerns over the formal notification of rolling industrial action.
This comes as a result of a string of strikes over the past few weeks with more walkouts in the future.
The union said that following the letter, it had decided to withdraw action on six dates in the coming fortnight.
Andy Furey, acting general secretary of CWU, said: “We believe it is a necessary move to protect our dispute.”
It stated that strikes would resume on November 12.
