Since its release in 1993, it has been a favorite for many families who gather to watch at Christmas and Halloween. Fans have been hoping for years to see the movie remade with actual actors. On social media, a series of posts have been made claiming that a live-action remake The Nightmare Before Christmas is in the works. However, this hasn’t yet been confirmed.
One particularly popular post from a Facebook page called Just Disney says “Johnny Depp to star in live-action Nightmare Before Christmas.” However, neither Disney, Johnny nor Tim have announced such a thing.
The posts are a result of the popular castings that have been made since the 90s.
The reference post has no validity but currently it has 48.1k shares, 176k responses and 24k comments.
The picture uses fan art with an image of Johnny Depp playing Ichabod Crane in Tim’s 1999 film Sleepy Hollow superimposed over it. Online, there are also fan-made posters that show live-action versions of Jack and Sally. Alas, they’re not official.
