TRIBUTES were paid to a “beautiful and loving”London mum found dead in Peru after being left in a bag in shallow grave.

Karla Zelaya Godoy, 37, travelled to the country last month for a romantic getaway with her 46-year-old boyfriend Jorge Alfredo Minaya Garay.

Karla’s family reported her missing and police discovered human remains in a blue bag inside a shallow grave on Wednesday night after receiving a chilling tip.

It is believed that officers were sent a recording of the conversation between Jorge and Karla by Eric Zelaya, Peruvian newspaper El Comercioreports.

Jorge, a suspect in the murder of Karla, allegedly confessed in the phone call and buried her body under the patio of his grandmother’s house in an isolated area in north Lima.

Karla, a Honduran-Spanish national, and Jorge both lived in London and worked at HMRC’s lorry park at Ebbsfleet, employed by Pioneer Facilities Management.

Mary-Jane Pettit was the chief executive of the company. She said, “Her heart was so full love for her daughter.

“Karla will be missed, and her friends as well as her work family are overwhelmed by grief.

“Our love and prayers are with Karla’s family at this very sad time.”

The company is now raising funds for Karla’s eight-year-old daughter, hoping to stump up £10,000 for the little girl.

Mary-Jane claimed that her and her team were informed on October 4, that the couple was missing, the day before they were to return to work.

They realized they could use an application to stay in touch with remote workers to find Karla or Jorge.

Sales executive Sean Coleman contacted the software’s publishers, Connecteam, and alerted cops in the UK and various embassies.

Karla’s body was later found in Carabayllo in the north of Lima – a short distance from where the app showed her last known location.

Jorge also allegedly confessed that he had buried her there.

Now, detectives are believed to be on the hunt for him.

Mary Jane reported Monday that Jorge was informed by the Spanish embassy in London.

For comment, the Metropolitan Police were contacted.

Karla and Jorge went to Peru’s tourist hotspots, including Machu Picchu, and Lima. They shared photos of their dream trip via a WhatsApp group.

Karla spoke to her mother reportedly on September 22nd, while she was in a taxi ride with Jorge to visit his grandmother north Lima.

She informed her mom that she would be traveling to Spain on the next day. But she was never heard of again.

Cops in Peru launched an investigation into her disappearance on October 3 – 11 days after she vanished – initially believing she had been kidnapped.

Jorge’s grandmother was contacted by cops and a recording was allegedly made.

The remains were recovered by police in a time period of more than 10 hours.

Central Recorder was told by a spokesperson of the Peru Embassy in London. “This Embassy is aware of the situation, while the Consulate General of Peru in London is currently carrying out the pertinent consultations with Peruvian authorities.”

Jorge fled Chile to escape the famine on October 1, and then purchased a ticket to London.

The Spanish Embassy has been contacted by Central Recorder for comment.
