FINALLY Pokémon has brought justice to Dunsparce, by giving our lad a new evolution.

It’s powerful as well, and its new signature attack means that it might even be viable for competitive play.

However, it’s not that easy to evolve, so you might be wondering how.

We’ve got you sorted. Here’s all the info you need in order to evolve Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

Where to find Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Dunsparce can be found in most areas of Paldea, but it’s a rare spawn making it difficult to find.

There’s a fairly consistent spot you can find one though, in a rocky outcropping to the west of Artazon.

This spawn is more common here than in other places, and is therefore easier to find.

It can be spotted by sneaking up on you to start the battle. It will burrow underground if you approach it in the overworld.

Dunsparce has a fairly high catch rate, so once you encounter it, catching it shouldn’t be too difficult.

How to evolve Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To evolve Dunsparce, you must first level it to 32.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have the built XP share so it will gain experience, even if it’s just in your party.

It will gain more experience if it enters battle, but will still get some experience if you catch a Pokémon.

Raids also reward you with experience candy, which can be used to quickly level up your Pokémon.

At level 32, Dunsparce is able to learn the signature move Hyper drill. This is necessary to evolve the move.

Hyper Drill is a powerful 100-power / 100-accuracy attack that can penetrate Detect and Protect.

Hyper Drill can be taught again if you’re unable to teach it via the select moves panel.

After your Dunsparce has learned Hyper Drill, you can level it up again to allow it to evolve.
