TikTok has been used by a woman to disclose that her name is often confusing and misunderstood by people.

But that’s not because it’s unique name that is hard to pronounce – this woman is named after a car brand and explained that people always think she is trying to sell them a car when she sends an email.

Mercedes went to TikTok and revealed her confusion about her name. She said: “When your name is Mercedes and your clients think they purchased something from the Mercedes Benz dealer.”

Mercedes shows off an email exchange she had with a client in the video.

Mercedes was sending her client an email receipt to confirm that she would be staying in her Airbnb. But the recipient didn’t understand the email and assumed it was a receipt for her car.

She shared a printscreen that showed a client’s response. It read: “Please cancel this. I no longer have that car. I haven’t had that car since 2021”.

Mercedes laughed and shaken her head as she pointed at the response from the customer.

Her video has clearly given many the giggles, as it has quickly racked up 477.3k views and 6,673 likes.

TikTok users found it funny, and many women of the same name posted comments about how it affected them.

Mercedes, another woman, said: “I feel the pain….”

Mercedes has been added by another person: “I just get asked If my dad likes cars”.
