A PASSENGER has gone viral after he shocked airline staff with a very drastic way of avoiding a £75 charge for his oversized hand luggage.
Skateboarder Shaun Hover was checking in for his flight, when he was told he would have to pay $89 (£75) for his board as it didn’t technically fit the hand luggage measurements.

Shaun chose to stamp his skateboard instead of spending the extra money. He then could take the skateboard on board the plane without paying extra.
The incident was captured on Shaun’s phone and posted later to His TiktokIt is now seen by more than 15 million people.
The airline staff were initially not amused by his actions, and one of them told him so. “unnecessary”.
Shaun later added to his video clip with a clip of Shaun holding two bags of sweets. It was a clip in which he said that another member of staff saw what had happened, and gave the sweets to him as a small gesture.

His actions were at first quite drastic but many people could see the wisdom in his actions.
Plenty pointed out that a brand new board would cost less than what he paid for the carry on and allow him to keep both his trucks as well as his wheels.
One wrote: “This is actually economically the best choice. A new deck is less than then 90$.”
Another one agreed, saying: “A new deck is cheaper than $89. he saved money.”
Others were critical of the airline employee telling him that his actions were unacceptable “unnecessary”.
One person said: “Unnecessary? Yall tryna charge 80 dollars for some wood.”
Another argument was: “‘That was unnecessary sir’…so is the $89 charge for something like a skateboard.”
Shaun’s actions were not appreciated by everyone.
One defends the woman and says she was simply doing her work.
They said: “People talking about the lady saying that was unnecessary, okay and? She doesn’t come up with policy. She’s just working.”
