Paraglider who deployed a rescue parachute seconds before hitting the ground says he’ll fly again

Paraglider, who was just seconds away from death when his parachute lines got tangled while he fell toward the ground, said that the frightening experience would not stop him from flying again.

“Yeah, I’m super motivated to fly again,”Inside Edition interview with paraglider Kevin Philipp

Phillip’s rescue parachute was deployed before he hit the ground. It was captured on heart-stopping video. His other parachute’s lines were tangled by a gust of wind while he was thousands of feet in the air, as onlookers, including his own mother, watched horrified from the ground.

Philipp deployed the second parachute in a matter of seconds.

“I got super lucky that the parachute didn’t break, and I came down super smooth,”He stated. “It looks a bit traumatic, my landing, but actually there was no injury, no harm at that point.”

Philipp claimed paragliding was safe because paragliders are always required to have multiple parachutes. But this is not the Swiss-born adventurer’s first near death accident.

Philipp, who was paragliding five years prior to his accident, had to learn to walk again.

But he still hopes to be back in the air.

“I don’t regret any of this,”He stated.
