‘Outer Range’ Charles Murray is the new showrunner

Prime Video has ordered the second season Outer Rangea neo-western that stars Josh Brolin as a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and family. Charles Murray (Sons of Anarchy and Luke CageThe showrunner for Brian Watkins will be replaced by ) who has an overall deal from Amazon Studios

The first season’s eight episodes began in April. They followed the Abbotts and their struggles with Rebecca, their daughter-in-law. They were further pushed to the edge when the Tillersons, who own the profit-driven ranch nearby, made a bid for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture.

The cast also includes Imogen Poots (in addition to Brolin).This Is What I Believe), Lili Taylor (Perry Mason), Tamara Podemski (Four Sheets to Wind), Lewis Pullman (Maverick is the Top Gun), Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Shaun Sipos (Krypton), Isabel Arraiza (The Little Things), Olive Abercrombie (The Haunting of Hill House), and Will Patton (Yellowstone).

Murray is not the only executive producer. Watkins is, along with Zev Borow (Heather Rae), Tony Krantz, as well as Plan B Entertainment, Amazon Studios. Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are Plan B’s executive producers. Ernest McNealey, Brad Pitt, and Brad Pitt are also involved.
