Residents say that “crazy” rules made by “dictators”, are ruining their seaside village and robbing them of their rights.
Conwy Council, in North Wales, plans to ban all dogs on the two-mile idyllic stretch of beach between Colwyn Bay & Rhos-on-Sea.

Beachgoers complained that owners let their dogs run wild and leave messes.
On Sunday, 2,300 animal lovers rallied to protest the ban. They called the local council “tin pot dictators”
Aaron Haggas walks his Rottweiler Brandy every day along the shore.
He told me: “It was terrible. It’s discriminatory to dog-walkers.
It is very harsh to completely ban dogs on the beach.
There are parts of the beaches where dogs are permitted and there are others that are not.
It has always worked well, so why would the council want to make a change now?
Peter Rourke said that the 56-year-old was “diabolical” and that council members were not paying attention to their constituents.
“There is a strong feeling of opposition to this. Over 2,000 people were protesting.
People don’t like it, but council members are behaving as dictators.
The way these councils behave is absurd. “These councils are driving me insane when they act this way.”
He said: “My Guest House is Dog Friendly – We even have Special Sausages for Dogs at Breakfast.
People who are on vacation want to take their dog, but will be disappointed if their pet is not allowed on the beach.
It could be a major blow to tourism. It’s madness.”
MUT OUT
Sian Jones said, “People who let their dogs do their business on the beach, and don’t clean it up, should face fines.”
It’s a very small group of people that do this.
Some people think that the sea would wash away their ashes, but this is not true.
She added, “There are now more dogs after the lockdown because people purchased puppies.”
The dogs are used.
If tourists know that their pet is not welcome, they will avoid coming to the country.
This is an insane decision. Dogs are a favorite of beachgoers.
Council snoopers shouldn’t interfere with this. The dogs should be left alone.
Councillor Emily Owen said: “Proposed Public Space Protection Orders and dog fouling are topics that regularly come up in most councillors’ inboxes.
“These Dog Control Orders aim to create a balance for dog owners and people who don’t have dogs to be able to enjoy public spaces.
“Our aim is to prevent the small number of irresponsible dog owners from allowing their dogs to foul, stray, and be out of control in a public place – thereby keeping everyone, including animals, safe.
“I’d encourage everyone to get involved and have their say.”
