Omicron variant latest news – New Covid laws effective TOMORROW, Brits informed they have 3 weeks to save Xmas

Sturgeon hopes that the ‘normal’ Christmas will be enjoyed by everyone, even though Sturgeon is not able to control it.

Scotland’s First Minister declared she “fervently hopes”The Omicron variant does not prohibit people from having a normal Christmas with their families and is not asking them to alter their festive plans.

She was asked whether people should delay their plans or make contingencies. “I’m not asking anybody today to put plans on hold”But, more people would consider contingencies. “all sorts of plans”.

She spoke at a briefing by the Scottish Government on the new coronavirus variant, six cases of which were confirmed north-of-the border. She said that the Scottish Government would keep its citizens informed about any changes to its advice.

She stated that she was not asking for you to alter your plans. I am aware that it is three weeks before Christmas. None of us wanted to be in this position again, talking about a new variant which poses risks. It is important to communicate any changes to our advice in a correct way.

“Individuals (human beings) will consider contingencies in all kinds of plans they make. I’m sure many will think about ‘if X happens what will I do’.Instead of what they had planned to do, they will be thinking about what if X happens.

“I cannot make that decision for everyone in this country.” That’s what I believe is the best way to go right now.

“Standing here right now I still hope, really fervently hope, to be having a normal Christmas with my family. Can I say that in a 100% sense? No, but that’s what I hope and I think that’s what we should be all be hopeful of as we learn more about this variant.”
