Olivia Newton-John, famed actress and star of the smash film “Grease”According to a statement on social media, Newton, who was also a singer pop, has passed away. Newton was 73 years old.

The actress and singer is best remembered for her starring role as Sandy in 1978’s “Grease,” and for her string of hit songs in the 1970s and ’80s. Her biggest hits included “Physical,” “Twist of Fate,” “I Love You, I Honestly Love You.”
Newton-John also had several hits from both soundtracks. “Grease” — among them “You’re the One That I Want”And “Summer Nights” — and her 1980 film “Xanadu,”Included, the classic “Magic.”
Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 1992. She was also diagnosed the week after her father’s death from cancer. In 1992, she founded the Olivia Newton-John Foundation to support cancer research and fund a cure.
She had a partial mastectomy and underwent breast reconstruction, chemotherapy, and breast reconstruction. Her treatment also included herbal formulas, meditation, and herbal formulas. She announced in 2017 that the disease had spread from her lower back to her after being in remission for 25 years.
She is survived her husband John Easterling and daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
