New trailer confirms Alchemy of Souls season 2 release dates

Alchemy of Souls season 2 (part 2) is now confirmed. A teaser trailer has also been released.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo had dominated the Summer Korean drama series, but Alchemy of Souls’ extended broadcast saw it climb the ranks and become one of Korea’s most popular shows.

The show was an enormous success, both in South Korea as well as internationally. Season 1 (part 1). reached its conclusion on 28 August.

Alchemy of Souls 2 is now available. A new teaser trailer and release date have been confirmed.

Alchemy of Souls’ conclusion was a stop-start affair

In August 2022, with just two weeks of Alchemy of Souls’ domestic release left, the series decided to take a surprise break ahead of the penultimate broadcast.

The series concluded its first part with back-toback episodes on Saturday August 27 and Sunday August 28.

Release date for season 2 of Alchemy of Souls confirmed

The tvN Twitter account has just uploaded a brand new teaser trailer for Alchemy of Souls season 2 alongside confirmation that the series’ second part will begin its domestic broadcast on December 10.

A post confirmed that there was a three-year timeskip between episode 20 and 21 of season 1.

On June 14, just four days before the series premiered on TV, Naver News published this story. reported that Alchemy of Souls would be broadcast over two parts – season 1 with 20 episodes and season 2 with 10 episodes.

Park Joonhwa Director was quoted as saying “When writing the script for the first time, there are various stories, the narrative is interesting, and there are sharp conflicts and various stories about relationships and stories about each family. I didn’t have time to do fun with the tiki-taka.”

“There are so many changes and variations in our narrative, so I thought I wanted to put a human story in it. I’m still writing the script for part 2, but it’s in progress. A story that can be contained. It was more difficult than I thought to put the narrative and relationship story in 20 parts, so I made the decision early on.” – Park Joon-hwa, via Naver News.

Naver News shared a follow up report. Confirmed Season 2 would be “be broadcast next December”December 2022, that is.

What has been the rating of K-drama so far?

Alchemy of Souls received an extraordinary response from fans in South Korea as well as around the globe.

Domestically, the series has been ranked the most-watched program block (both nationally and in Seoul) during its entire broadcast. Peaking with episode 20’s outstanding 2.410 million viewership.
