New hurricane predictions made with SEVENTEEN storms expected to strike in the next few months.

Forecasters warned that as many as seventeen storms will be brewing in the US over the coming months.

Colorado State University meteorologists predict that the country could be hit by 20 named storms this season.

According to the National Hurricane Center, there could be up to 10 hurricanes. Five may be classified as Category 3 and above. CSU.

This means wind speeds may be at a minimum of 112 mph and communities may lose power for several days. FoxWeather reports.

In a Category 3 storm, downed trees could block roads.

Scientists at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration are now predicting that between 6 and 10 hurricanes will hit this season.

According to data, seven hurricanes were recorded during the 2021 season.

Phil Klotzbach, meteorologist, stated that tropical Atlantic is warmer than normal.

So far, three named storms have rocked the US – Alex, Bonnie, and Colin.

Next storms will be called Danielle, Earl Fiona and Gaston.

Usually, the third storm doesn’t form until August 3 – meaning the season is a month ahead this year.

In some parts of the Carolinas, Tropical Storm Colin made July 4 celebrations impossible.

After flooding near a harbor, Charleston’s Independence Day celebration organizers had to cancel.

Scott Watson, the city’s director of cultural affairs, told the AP: “Obviously, we’re disappointed. This promised to be a great family event, and we hate to have to cancel.”

Columbia woman claims that South Carolina Highway Patrol officials had the responsibility of saving her daughter from a window in her car after water flooded it.

The weather also caused the cancellation of a Southport, North Carolina July Fourth celebration.

Another victim of the storm was a 52-yearold man who drowned at Oak Island.

FLOODING TRAGEDY

CPR was performed for over 30 minutes by Medics before the patient was declared dead.

Colin originated near Florida’s East Coast before traveling towards Georgia and moving inland over South Carolina.

Officials warned of dangerous surf conditions when Tropical Storm Colin barrelled into.

Wilmington, North Carolina saw winds of up to 35 mph.

As it devastated Central America, Tropical Storm Bonnie claimed at least three lives.

The storm caused significant damage in El Salvador, Nicaragua, and winds of up to 80mph were recorded as it headed towards Mexico.

According to the Nicaraguan Army, two people died in flooding-related incidents.

Alberto Flores Landero was 40 years old when he tried to cross the Mati River which had overflowed because of heavy rains.

Juan Carlos Alemán, 38, died helping passengers from a bus that fell into the Ali Bethel River in the same area.

The Family Ministry stated that mattresses were given to families who had been evacuated.

Motorists were also left in Miami by Tropical Storm Alex, which caused disruption in June.

To rescue people who had become stranded in water, first responders used high-water rescue vehicles.

The storm brought about 12 inches of rain to downtown Miami, and more than nine and a quarter inches to South Miami.

Danielle Levine-Cava (Miami-Dade County Mayor) also stated that the flooding was caused by storm drains not functioning properly. This allowed water to re-enter the drains.

Forecasters believe that there will be a 75 percent chance of a Category 3-5 hurricane affecting the US coast this year.

The Gulf Coast has a 49% chance while the East Coast, including Peninsula Florida, has a 50% chance.
