Neverland Nightmare will be ‘ruin childhoods’

Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the director of the upcoming horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, revealed he’s developing a similar twisted take on another classic, Peter Pan – and fans feel their childhoods have now been ruined.

Yes. Yes, Peter Pan will be the star in a horror film.

The story is from 1904In 1953, Disney animated the story of Peter Pan. Peter Pan is a childhood favorite of many. It tells the story of a wild, free-spirited boy from Neverland that never grew up.

His story is about to turn into a nightmare. Literally.

As fans await the release of Winnie The Pooh – the scary version – Waterfield announced another venture, Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare. But not everyone is thrilled with the news.

The tale of the ex-lost boy, who battles Captain Hook along with Tinker Bell, is about get spooky.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blood and Honey’s director Rhys Waterfield is looking forward to a new adaptation of the loveable character.

No more information has been made, therefore, fans will now have to wait to hear more about the director’s next project.

Fans feel like it’s ‘ruined their childhood’

The Winnie The Pooh horror flick received mixed reviews online when it was first announced in May. Some didn’t like the idea of the story of such a beloved childhood icon being turned into a nightmare.

Fans of Neverland are not impressed by the news that another character from childhood is slated to suffer the same fate.

Twitter user: “Welp, isn’t this a great way to remember your childhood heroes?”

Another one came next: “It seems that we are getting a trend where our childhood is not becoming horror movies.”

“What’s wrong with you Hollywood People!?! Why do you wanna ruin our Childhood by turning them into Horror Movies!?”One more.

One was pointed out: “Peter pan?! Okay, now they really want to destroy my childhood.”

Peter Pan – the boy who never grew up

All children, except one, grow up – and that’s Peter Pan.

Created by J M Barrie, the story follows a boy who entered Neverland after he didn’t want to grow up. He becomes a crucial character in the magical world after he meets Tinkerbell, his fairy friend and learning to fly. He is the leader of the Lost Boys and spends most of his time playing games, as well as battling Captain Hook.

Although Peter Pan’s story has been around for a century, it still inspires and fascinates fans all over the globe. They grew up seeing him as a childhood icon.

This story was first published in 1904. It became a huge success. It has been adapted into various films, from Disney’s animation to a live action sequel called Hook, featuring the late Robin Williams.
