No mystery here: The sequel was one of four movies from the streamer to rank in this week’s top 10
Netflix, long the dominant streaming service, has risen to the top of the list. 1 spot on this week’s Whip Media movie ranker, thanks to “Enola Holmes 2” pulling in the most U.S. viewers last weekend, according to Whip Media viewer data, which is based on more than 23 million global registered users of the TV Time app, which allows fans to track their favorite TV shows and movies.
The sequel to 2020’s “Enola Holmes”Fans jumped at the opportunity to see this movie, which was one of November’s most anticipated flicks. Millie Bobby Brown stars in the movie. “Stranger Things”Fame returns to her role as Enola Sherlock, and she is now assigned her first case as detective. She enlists Sherlock’s help to solve the missing girl case. Henry Cavill plays her brother.

Netflix’s weekend was strong, with Netflix showing four of the top ten movies of the week. Netflix’s winners also included “The School for Good and Evil”And “The Good Nurse,”It ranked at No. 5, 6 and 6. “Enola Holmes” also looked to get a boost from the sequel’s release, too, with the first “Holmes”Flick coming in at No. 8.
Roku’s performance with its originals was also impressive. “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story”The silver medal was awarded to the weekend. The biopic stars Daniel Radcliffe in the role of the ‘80s and ‘90s king of music parodies, hit The Roku Channel on Nov. 4. The movie features a star-studded cast that includes big names like Evan Rachel Wood, Will Forte, Conan O’Brien, Jack Black, and Quinta Brunson
Apple TV+ also had a strong week thanks to “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.” The documentary chronicled a six-year portion of the singer-actress’ life, giving viewers an inside look at how Gomez managed a number of personal struggles, including her diagnosis with bipolar disorder and struggles with fame. Spearheading the film was Alek Keshishian, the director of 1991’s “Madonna: Truth or Dare” documentary — one of the highest grossing documentaries ever. His expertise, coupled with Gomez’s star power, makes it easy to see why it was the third-most streamed movie of last weekend.
Gomez wasn’t the only popular singer to make the top 10 this week, with Harry Styles’ latest movie, “My Policeman,”Coming in at No. 7. “My Policeman,” based on the 2012 novel of the same name, follows Styles as a gay policeman in 1950s England who marries a schoolteacher — while still being tied to another man.
Two movies that performed exceptionally well in the last month are the final two movies on the weekly ranker. “Hocus Pocus 2”The show continued to attract viewers for Disney+, finishing in ninth place for the week. The sequel to 1993’s “Hocus Pocus”Since its launch on Disney+, Sept. 30, it has been in the top 10 every week.
The top 10 were rounded out by “Halloween Ends,”This is the latest entry to the ongoing “Halloween” franchise. This was the fourth straight week “Halloween Ends” and Peacock made the top 10 — so don’t be surprised when Michael Myers gets revived for yet another “Halloween” flick.
