Netflix made board games out of Stranger Things, Squid Game and Ozark

You wouldn’t want to live in any of the worlds of the most popular Netflix originals. What is it like to visit the Ozarks You can expect to be kidnapped at most once. Hawkins? Unless Eleven is your best friend, you aren’t making it out alive. Perhaps a series of board game based on these shows would be a better alternative. Well, you’re in luck: Netflix is partnering with Asmodee to adapt three of its most popular series into board games.

Netflix is making its shows into boardgames

Asmodee and Netflix have announced adaptations of board games for Thursday. Ozark, Stranger Things?, and Squid Game. Asmodee has published many board games, including some of the most popular titles such as Tickets to Ride, Pandemic, 7 Wonders?, and Catan.

Netflix describes Ozark a game that allows you to control territory for up to 5 people. Each player will pick a faction to try and gain control of locations on the show like Missouri Belle and Lickety Splitz. The player with the highest amount of money wins.

Squid Game is a board game where 3 to 6 people choose a team of 12 and compete in six games: Red Light/Green Light/Tug of War Marbles, Glass Bridge, Squid Game, Red Light/Green Light, Red Light/Green Light, Dalgona and Tug of War. The Squid Head is won by the first player to reach it.

Stranger things: Attack of the Mind Flayer

If you’ve ever played Werewolf or Mafia, you should get a kick out of Stranger things: Attack of the Mind Flayer. Netflix describes Attack of the Mind Flayer to be a hidden role-playing game for 4-10 people. Two teams meet to find out who Mind Flayer is.

The suggested retail price for all three Netflix boardgames will be $24.86 upon launch.

Steve Horvath (President of Asmodee North America), shared the following statement.

We couldn’t be more excited to partner with Netflix and Walmart for these releases. Given the popularity of these series, we wanted to make them available to as many viewers as possible. Walmart was an obvious choice for this partnership.
