TDP’s Mystery of Aaravos: TDP’s showrunner

IGNRecently, I interviewed Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond, co-creators of The Dragon Prince and executive producers about season 4. And where it is headed.

When asked about including ‘Mystery of Aaravos’Ehasz explains how in the title “It’s a culmination of history”As the sage continues its rise.

“Because the story’s going to unfold as it does and we don’t want to reveal what our plans are but yes, the saga is escalating and evolving and the arc of the Mystery of Aaravos is a culmination. It’s a culmination of history. So all these hints and things and all the events that we knew kind of contextualized seasons one through three, so many of them were set into play by this being and now we’re starting to understand who they are, why they did what they did and that they’re quite on the cusp of reentering history in a big and powerful and scary way.” – Aaron Ehasz, via IGN.

The showrunners also confirmed the long-held theory that a timeskip would take place in season 5. However this has thankfully always been part and parcel of the plan rather than an impulsive decision.

It was something we knew from the beginning that there would be a time skip following season 3. We felt that it was important to discuss what it looked like after season three. This was especially true since we knew it would take some time to complete the show. We finished season three. [Netflix] picked it up and stuff we’re, ‘Okay, it’s been about two to three years.’” – Justin Richmond, via IGN.
