Osmond said the biggest takeaway from her weight loss journey was to avoid thinking that being on a strict diet is part of losing weight.

The singer explained that in the ’70s, everyone wanted to be in their best shape and raved about being on a specific “diet.” She noted her best tip in this situation:

“My tip would be don’t think of it as weight loss, because the minute you think ‘dieting,’ you think, ‘Oh, I can’t have this,’ and that’s not what this is about.”

Osmond stated food is not the “enemy,” it is possible for one to eat their favorite foods but at the same time, keep in mind that they need to have only a portion of what they eat. She said eating a bit still allows one to feed themselves instead of trying to “starve to death.”

The author revealed that she goes on a “fast once a month,” something she has been doing for years. However, she cautioned that she does not do it regularly.

Osmond explained that once one does it often, their “metabolism” gets shut down, adding it could reach “a point” whereby one cannot consume enough food, which does not “work” for her. The veteran star said she needs “to eat,” which is her source of “energy.”

Osmond lost weight by eating healthy food. The philanthropist shared she stopped participating in the program 15 years ago, and to date, she remains disciplined in her food intake.

“I try to not gain more than five lbs, especially around holidays. I will eat a little more. You’ll feel great about your self after one week.

Osmond revealed when she “was 50 pounds heavier,” she lacked “energy” for her thriving musical career or spending time with her grandkids.

Osmond said the program has nothing to do with being on a “diet” and is mainly “a lifestyle” for her: “It’s not about being skinny. She said that it’s all about being healthy.

Craig & Osmond Got Married Twice

Osmon and Craig have been happily married since 2011. Per People, it was the couple’s second time getting hitched that year, 26 years after their divorce.

When speaking about her relationship with the basketball player, Osmond said the fact that they rekindled their relationship did not happen by chance, adding it was divine “timing.”

The lovebirds first walked down the aisle when Osmond was 22 years old. She had previously met him when she was a teenager. Within less than a year as newlyweds, the pair welcomed their first child together, son Stephen.

However, that period turned out to be challenging for Osmond as she struggled to keep her career going. People even said that she was done for. At the same time, her marriage to Craig had hit rock bottom.

Subsequently, the couple decided to divorce in 1985, and things turned even sour for Osmond, who was now a “single” mother with no means “to pay rent,” not forgetting being unable “to feed my kid.” She then decided to revive her singing career.

Once she accomplished that, several years later, Osmond and Craig mended their relationship through their son, Stephen, which was a surprise.

When the duo reconciled, their child was about to get married, Osmond, and she and Craig thought they could not attend their son’s wedding without being married themselves. In a rush, they tied the knot “a few months before he did.”

When reflecting on their first failed marriage, the “Paper Roses” singer admitted that she realized “things you thought were so important aren’t.” Osmond gushed about her spouse, saying she loves being with him and that “He is the sweetest man that I know.”
