  • I used an air fryer and microwave to make corn on the cob.
  • Although the effort levels were similar across all methods, the stove and toaster oven required the most effort.
  • I loved the air-fried corn because it was easy to clean up and also had a delicious roasted flavor.

If given the option, most people grill corn on the cob. There are alternatives if you don’t have a grill or live in an area with frequent fires.

I tried to cook corn in an oven fryer, microwave oven, toaster oven, instantpot, and stovetop.

I began with the toaster oven.

Use a recipe from the vegetarian website Toaster ovens are a favorite of mineI made the first batch of corn in a toaster oven.

I wrapped a corn cob in aluminum foil and put it on the rack for thirty minutes at 350° Fahrenheit.

I did not know that corn could be made in a toaster oven.

This was a very easy method that required little cleanup. The corn was full of flavor, tender and a little crunchy.

This method is definitely worth repeating.

Next, I tried the traditional way of boiling corn

You can also make corn on a cob by heating some salted water and boiling your corn in a saucepan for five minutes.

I was able to taste the corn kernels in my mouth as soon as I bit into them.

It couldn’t be easier to make the corn. The water took some time to boil so the process was slower than other methods.

A pressure cooker was used as the third method.

I used the pressure cooker setting.

I wanted to make corn in my multi-cooker so I modified a recipe from the blog. Spend with Pennies.

Instead of boiling the corn for 3 hours (which was too much for this simple dish), I put 1/3 cup water in the pot and used pressure-cooker to heat it up.

The corn was cooked for 12 minutes. This was the default setting for my machine.

Although the corn was very tender, it did not taste as good as it should have.

They also tasted watery compared to other cooking methods. After cooling, the kernels deflated slightly.

Next, I pulled out my air fryer

Air fryer, corn, and olive oil.

I used olive oil.

This technique was based on a recipe I found on the blog. Best Recipe Box.

I coated each corncob with olive oil and put them in an oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 12 minute, flipping halfway.

A lightly toasted corn.

The kernels were lightly browned.

This made the best corn.

The corn kernels had a slight popcorn taste and were lightly browned.

It was delicious and sweet. The roasted taste was also a pleasant surprise.

For the final method, I microwaved corn in its husk

This was again super simple.

The only thing I did was to stick the corn in its husk into the microwave for 4 minutes. The husk was then pulled back with a towel. This revealed perfectly cooked corn.

This method required little preparation and cleanup and was delicious.

It was tender and slightly crunchier than the original. It also had a stronger flavor from cooking it in the husk.

All methods were easy and delicious, but the air-fried corn was simply amazing

My favorite corn was made by the air fryer because of the popcorn-like flavour and sweet, roasted notes.

Next was the toaster oven. Then came the microwave and finally the boiling of the corn.

Because I couldn’t find the right setting on my pressure cooker, it was last. It ended up being too hot.
