Liz Truss is criticised for refusing to interview Nick Robinson of BBC

After declining to be interviewed for the BBC’s Nick Robinson, Liz Truss was criticized as the Tory leader.

Rishi Sunak, the other candidate for leadership, was interviewed by the journalist last night. Truss however said that he had not agreed to be subjected to the same scrutiny.

He stated: “So far, she hasn’t been able to find a time or a date to do it. The invitation, of course, remains open. We’re told she’s still considering it.”

Truss also appeared to avoid an interview with Andrew Neil, a broadcaster Sunak also had to answer questions from.

We really don’t want a PM who is afraid to confront the media. Or someone who is open to having their ideas reviewed?

Sunak, who is in this latter camp, stated that he would prefer to lose the race rather than do “the right thing”Robinson was interviewed.

He also added that the next prime minister had been a “moral responsibility”To support poorer households by paying their energy bills. To criticise Truss’s tax cuts plans, saying that they will not help those most in need.

The race continues and we will soon find out who the Tories have graciously chosen to be the next PM for all of us on the 5th September.
