The Film Independent Spirit Awards will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. ET/2 pm PT at Santa Monica’s Baker Hanger. The IFC will broadcast the annual ceremony honoring the best of indie film and streaming it for subscribers to AMC+.
This year’s show is also available for the first time at select AMC Theatres via the AMC Stubs program. It will be streamed exclusively on hollywoodsuite.ca in Canada. Live updates and content via social media will be made available via Film Independent and IFC (@ifc).
Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman will host the ceremony this year. They will announce winners in 16 film competition categories and five TV shows.
Presenters today include Kristen Stewart, honorary chair and recenlty nominated Oscar for. Spencer, who will be joined by Dianna Agron, Javier Bardem, Murray Bartlett, Jennifer Beals, Rosario Dawson, Daveed Diggs, Colman Domingo, Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Hannah Einbinder, Bridget Everett, Andrew Garfield, Regina Hall, Lily James, Marlee Matlin, Bob Odenkirk, Sam Richardson, Rhea Seehorn, Sebastian Stan, Sydney Sweeney, Taika Waititi, Michelle Yeoh and Chloé Zhao.
Nominees for the 37th Annual Show, which honors films with budgets less than $22.5 Million, have shown less crossover this year with Oscars nominees. These are the nominees in the Best Picture category. A Chiara,C’mon C’mon,The Lost Daughter,The NoviceandZola, with the latter two movies leading the pack with five seven overall noms, respectively.
A24, Neon & Netflix are the distributors with the highest number of nominations.
The Film Independent Spirit Awards are Film Independent’s primary fundraiser for the year with winners are voted on by members.
