On Patrol is the successor series to A&E’s Live PDThe National Protests against racism and police brutality led to the cancellation of the televised speech. Live PDSean and Abrams host “Sticks”John Zito, executive producer for the new series, was reunited with Larkin. Abrams and Larkin were joined by Curtis Wilson (Deputy Sheriff) from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Columbia, South Carolina. The series follows seven sheriff’s and police departments around the country, live at 9 p.m. ET, midnight on Saturday nights.

Citizen Ride-Alongs is a new segment on the show that will feature a citizen joining police officers. “We are only going to do this with departments that already have ride-along policies in place for members of the public,”Zito said Entertainment Weekly. “And we’re going to adhere to their standards for safety and security.”

Live PDTom Mottis Jr. was not available as a co-host. On Patrol. Wilson is “going to be fantastic,”Zito said EW. “The fact that Tom’s not coming back was a tough one – we just couldn’t get the schedule to work. But I still hope that we do see Tom on the show in some good capacity as a guest, or a cameo. If there’s ever a chance to get him on again, we’d love to do that.”
