List of the top low-cost airlines around the globe – three from the UK are included

Three UK-based airlines were named among the top ten lowest-cost airlines worldwide.

Skytrax 2022 World Airline Awards were held recently. Ryanair and easyJet were among the best budget carriers.

AirAsia was the winner, beating Scoot in second. Ryanair placed fourth.

Their Stansted location, although technically an Irish company means they are considered UK-based.

EasyJet was in seventh place, followed by Jet2 in eighth.

These awards are considered to be ‘the Oscars of the aviation industry’They were awarded after more than 14 million voters from more than 100 countries voted for their favorite airlines.

However, it wasn’t a good night overall for UK airlines with Virgin Atlantic’s “Best Premium Economy” being the only British airline to take home the top spot.

There were no UK airlines listed among the top airlines for cabin staff or in the list with the cleanest.

Virgin and British Airways made it to the top 20 for best inflight entertainment.

BA was rated the 11th-best airline worldwide.

Qatar Airways was named the World’s top airline for the seventh year in a row at the awards.

Ryanair gained the respect of holidaymakers recently after they overbooked a flight.

Ash Reid, from Glasgow, and her partner had travelled to Costa Adeje in Tenerife for a relaxing holiday last month.

They were also treated to an extra day free of charge by the budget airline, after their flight to the UK was sold out.

The couple enjoyed an additional night at the hotel, and then went to the beach to get their tan before returning to the airport.

Remember the TikTok incident, the glam mom-of-two (@ashreid_) said: “Ryanair didn’t have enough space for us on the way home.

“So they gave us an extra day on holiday. We didn’t expect that…”

EasyJet flights for summer 2023 are on sale now with fares from £29.99.

Jet2 also increased its capacity to carry more passengers after an excellent summer.
