Of course, the interviewer was touched by the news of The Rock buying his mom a house, but the comedian couldn’t help but deflate the notion by acknowledging how long his co-star has had money:
It was only a matter of time. One billion dollars later, he bought his mom a home. Do we need to clap? It seems like everyone in the room thinks the same thing. It’s about fucking time. ‘Hey, mom! Look what I got you. You can get out of that duplex.’
I admire the interviewer for her calm demeanour. Without it, I doubt I could have made it through the interview. Dwayne John, who was having a great time, clarified some points. He had bought several houses for his mom since her divorce.
Still, Kevin Hart couldn’t help but dish out additional jokes during the conversation and, let’s be honest, would you really expect him to take his foot off the gas in a moment like this? Being the comedian Hart is, he couldn’t help but get another dig in at The Rock’s expense. After hearing the actor’s justification, he made a humorous and emphatic appeal to the wrestler-turned-actor’s mother:
