After Action game for over 25 years, you’d think he’d know pretty much all there is to know, but that’s not quite accurate. The MatrixFranchise star had to learn an entirely new skill. John Wick, and I honestly can’t wait to see the results on screen in the film.

Interview for his cover issue Esquire, Keanu Reeves revealed that we’ll be able to see how skilled of an equestrian he is because his character will be atop a horse in the desert, and it was his hope while preparing for the movie that he’d be able to gain some speed on the horse. There’s a sequence—hopefully, knock on wood, in John Wick 4, the opening sequence. John Wick is riding a horse back to the desert. I’m going to hopefully be able to fast-gallop and run.
Keanu Reeves didn’t have any previous experience with horseback riding, so he said that he had not been able to learn the ropes. When asked about his knowledge of how to gallop on horses, Reeves replied with this statement:
Ish. That’s why I’m going to training.
Let’s get one thing straight: I would absolutely watch Keanu Reeves while he is learning literally any skill. This is actually me pitching a TV series that revolves around Reeves learning mundane skills such as knitting and pasta-making. Keanu Reeves learning how to ride a horse is sure to be a Netflix Top 10 hit. This would be the reason that three generations of women and men would break down the internet.
Okay, so we won’t get to see Keanu Reeves learning to ride a horse at the speed needed for John Wick, but seeing the result of his hard work would be a decent consolation prize, especially if there’s some Indiana JonesAction scenes from atop a horse in a symphony of action He makes use of all the fighting styles that he is comfortable with. His training to ride on horses and gallop may have been some of his most enjoyable in his long acting career. I mean, it’s not like he was stuck in a runaway bus with a bomb strapped to it.
