Kate Middleton Honors Princess Diana with Remembrance Sunday Outfit

  • Kate Middleton was in attendance at the Remembrance Sunday service on Sunday, replacing Queen Elizabeth II.
  • The black Alexander McQueen coat she wore looked just like the one Princess Diana wore in the past.
  • A pair of pearl earrings, previously owned by Diana, was also worn by the Duchess Of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton attended this weekend’s Remembrance Sunday service, London, England. She paid tribute while there to her mother-in-law.

Alexander McQueen designed a black military-style coat for the Duchess of Cambridge, which she wore to Cenotaph’s war memorial. It featured a white collar, surrounded by red epaulets. The jacket also had three buttons down its front.

Middleton wore a black round hat with a satin band and pearl drops earrings that belonged once to Princess Diana.

These earrings were part of Princess Diana’s Collingwood collection. She was gifted them by the jewelerAccording to Mirror, this was before she married Prince Charles.

She wore them on numerous occasions — including With her famed “revenge dress” — and Middleton later added them to her wardrobe.

Although the Middleton’s outfit is newer, it looks a lot like one Princess Diana wore at Remembrance Sunday.

For example, in 1992, the Princess of Wales visited Cenotaph to view the Remembrance parade. She wore a round hat and a button-up black coat.

Her style was also similar to Middleton years before.

In 1982, Princess Diana arrived at The National Service of Remembrance wearing a black ensemble, which included a blazer and knee-length skirt with patterned tights. Diana, like Middleton added a touch of white to her look through her collar.

As is tradition on Remembrance Day, both women wore red poppies pinned to their jackets at all events.
