WWE is Wrestlemania 38: Get ready, which means all sorts of surprises are in store for the coming months, and that probably includes a few unexpected appearances and maybe even the return of past superstars that fans don’t often see in the ring. John Cena, a PPV legend for more than 20 years, is one of the possible stars who could appear. The wrestling icon has recently updated fans regarding his availability to the event.
John Cena made an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres ShowTo promote his Future Suicide SquadSpinoff seriesPeacemakerHBO Max and, as is so often the case, the WWE were mentioned. When Cena was asked whether or not he’d be in attendance for WrestleMania 38, he didn’t beat around the bush in responding that it largely depends on his upcoming opportunities and whether or not those work out in his favor. This is mega-fame’s power. He said:
Wrestlemania is almost always at the end of March, or early April. I don’t know if I’m going to make it this year. That’s a good conundrum to have because there are a lot of good opportunities coming up, which I would love to take. If all those things line up, I don’t know if I’ll be able to make WrestleMania.
John Cena may have some interesting projects in the works that could keep him from Wrestlemania 38, if all goes according to plan. He isn’t too upset about it all. Cena may be out of Wrestlemania for the second year in a row after a long streak. Cena was a participant in previous Wrestlemania events for 20 years.
John Cena not being able to attend WrestleMania may be disappointing for fans. This is also a sign that his acting career could pull him closer to the WWE in the future. For those worried about that reality, Cena did offer a consolation statement and made it clear that while he might miss WrestleMania, he’s still Plan to returnAt one point More matches available.

It’s good to see and hear that John Cena is still feeling good about pro wrestling after His brief return in 2021, and that he’s planning to come back. It always seemed like that’d be the case, as Cena’s 16-time world title count ties him with Ric Flair, and one more win would break the record and thus make wrestling history. I imagine the WWE is more than willing to give Cena that record given his legacy in the company, as well as in Hollywood, so now it’s just a question of when that record-breaking match could happen. Wrestlemania 38 will be held on Saturday, April 2nd and Sunday, April 3rd. Both nights will stream on Peacock. John Cena isn’t currently involved in the proceedings, though it does seem like we’ll see another mega-matchup between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns that fans won’t want to miss.
