JESSIE J is expressing her grief at the passing of Jamal Edwards, her close friend. “doesn’t feel real”To her.
The intimate acoustic performance was given to raise funds for her former music school. Brit SchoolShe shared with her adoring fans the struggles of dealing with grief.
She shared her feelings with the tuned-in crowd “doesn’t go away”People who have suffered a terrible loss will do their best to make it better.
Mateus Asato played an instrumental backing her, and she shared that Jamal, her close friend, is always on her mind.
She stated: “I miss Jamal so much. I know there’s probably people here that knew him. It still doesn’t feel real to me. He was a good friend of mine.”
Jamal created online music platform SBTV which featured some today’s most popular artists like Jessie as well as Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Emilia Sandé and Rita Ora.
She stated: “Every time I feel sad, I just go ‘I have to live a little harder’. I’m so grateful to be here.”
Encouraged to encourage fans to think of their loved one, she encouraged them to remember them each day.
She said: “I want you to think of that person, or those people that you miss.
“I want them to be there in the bird that flies by your window, and in the breeze that blows past your face.
“I want you to feel them in your favourite chorus of your favourite song, I want you to live for them.”
Jessie continued: “Jamal’s incredible. It’s his birthday next week, so I’m thinking of him and many other people that we all miss.”
This moment was only one of many that triggered a tearful response from her audience. She also made
Jessie’s former security officer, Dave, died three years ago from suicide.
Throughout the presentation, she took a moment to acknowledge Dave. She encouraged men to tell her if they are struggling and also encouraged those who adored her to love them.
Jessie said, “Love yourself more then you love me.”
“I know some of you have been going through it. I know some of you are going through it.”
