Coming horror movie releases) is the Final HalloweenFilm in the recent Blumhouse-produced trilogy and marks Curtis’ final performance as the character she made so iconic. The actress is now reflecting on the reasons that she was drawn to Laurie Strode’s role decades ago.

She didn’t dress like I did, and she didn’t think like I did. High school was my last experience. She was the valedictorian for her class. It was an opportunity for me as an actor. This was the first time I had this opportunity. That was for me incredible.
The actress’ reasoning makes sense. She saw the lead in John Carpenter’s original movie as an opportunity to play a character far different from herself and a chance to stretch as an actress. Before the smash ’70s horror movie,Although she was cast as Linda, it is impossible to imagine her playing the role of Linda without the film’s impact and star’s subdued performance.
Jamie Lee Curtis was able to watch her character age and grow over four decades, which has given her the rare chance to become one. It’s almost impossible to imagine the horror movie landscape without Curtis as Laurie. Or what the actress’s life would look like had she not agreed to the role. She continued her remarks during the panel.

While Blumhouse’s first entry into the rebooted trilogy was mostly liked by critics and fans, the 2020 sequel Halloween is Dead’ critical reception was far more divisive. Despite my issues with the film, I was excited to see Jamie Lee Curtis’ final song as the character that she created over forty years ago.
