Television schedules could be in chaos after the World Cup 2022 starts in Qatar.
Two huge football games will dominate the major channels in the weeks ahead. They will also wipe out ITV’s Monday lineup.
The main channel, which was recently rebranded ITV1, will show two major games. Football will be shown from 3pm to 9.15pm.
It will air first Senegal against the Netherlands, then the blockbuster clash of the USA with Wales.
BBC One will show England’s first match against Iran from noon on Monday.
The ITV1 block of shows means Tipping Point and The Chase, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale won’t be shown.
However, soap fans won’t be disappointed with the bumper episodes that air later in the week when ITV doesn’t show evening football.
Monday’s trip will still be held to the I’m A Celeb Jungle, but at a slightly later time (9:15 pm).
The ITV News will follow at 10.30pm.
BBC has also had to shunt its major shows. Eastenders is on BBC2 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
