HOLLYWOOD’S hottest workout, loved by Jennifer Aniston & Rihanna has now reached UK shores.
First Lagree Fitness Studio in England opened – I checked it out.
This is a low-impact, high-intensity exercise program that sculpts and tones every muscle on the body.
Some have called it Pilates on steroids. That person wasn’t incorrect.
In only 50 minutes, I exercised every part of my entire body. Some for the first ever.
This is a favourite of A-listers because it combines strength, cardio and core training with flexibility, endurance, and balance.
Jennifer and RiRi, Kim Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens are also said to be fans.
Meghan Markle described the exercise as being “the most beneficial thing that you can do to your body”.
Alessandra Abrosso and Karlie Kloss of Victoria’s Secret also seem to love it. And who wouldn’t want their bodies!

What is Lagree?
Sebastien Lagree, a fitness instructor and entrepreneur from France who now lives in Los Angeles, is behind Lagree.
Megaformer is the machine used.
It looks at first like a torture machine, what with the springs, bars and straps as well as the sliding carriage.
It’s not accurate to say that Lagree is a muscle-burning exercise.
Although it may look similar to the reformer in Pilates, this machine uses different principles.
In place of breathing, focusing and flowing, the method relies on bodybuilding’s time under tension.
Lagree is a session that does not take breaks. It targets every aspect of fitness.
It is all about a set of springs, both red and yellow. These are changed throughout each class to make it easier or harder.
Lagree Studios have been around since 2006 and now there are more than 500 Lagree Studio locations in the world.
MAD is the first MAD to be established in London.
Mona Halawi & Nour Abu Hamdan both are instructors.
How does it feel?
Website claims that this workout “strips fat, builds muscle, challenges your heart, increases flexibility, and boosts endurance.”
It’s pretty accurate, I think.
In my class of 50 minutes, which lasted an hour and a half, I did planks as well as crunches.
Nour called it “the Lagree Shakes” and I felt them within the first 2 minutes.
Both my limbs wobbled uncontrollably and I was drenched in sweat, both of which are signs that you have done a good workout.
It was a class that was unlike any I’ve taken before because it was all done at a slow pace.
The instructor was always saying, “Let’s go slower.”
Nour said: “The basis of the exercise is to move slowly.”
By moving very slowly, you force your muscles to do the work instead of relying solely on momentum.
If you are doing a quick lunge, then you may not be focusing enough on the muscle contraction.
When asked why the exercise is so popular with celebrities, Ms. Smith replied: “It works all the muscles and it’s super-efficient.
You get great results because you don’t have time to take a break or drink water.
Celebrities love this workout because of its toning effects.
My verdict
I’m pretty active. I like to run, bike, dance, spin, and occasionally take HIIT classes.
Nothing could have prepared me for what Lagree was going to do.
My movements were painfully sluggish, and I felt every fibre in my being being stretched to the limits.
With a hefty price tag of between £20 and £35 per session, I’m not sure it would be a regular workout for me personally.
You can get some amazing results within a short time if you are willing to spend some money.
My introductory lesson left me sore several days later MAD So it’s clear that the 50 minutes were productive.
After a few weeks, I cannot imagine what you’d feel and how you’d look!
