It looks like one former WWE Superstar may finally be returning to the Ring

After some positive news years, a former WWE superstar might be back in the fold. Corey Graves has spent so long behind the commentary table in recent years, I’d wager there might be some who forgot he once was considered an up-and-coming athlete for NXT. Now, he’s received some great news on the medical front, and it’s looking possible he could make a return to the ring for the company.

According to Fightful Wrestlingnews.coCorey Graves has been cleared by his doctor to resume wrestling. Graves was a well-known wrestler in NXT, and also wrestled alongside current roster talentAs far back as 2012, like Sami Zayn or Seth Rollins. Graves was forced to retire from wrestling in December 2014 due to concussions and he began work for WWE as a commentator. However, it seems that they are making progress in reversing their retirement status.

Corey Graves started out on NXT’s commentary team shortly after his retirement at the end of 2014 and quickly gained momentum as a fan-favorite commentator on the show. Monday Night RawAfter the 2016 WWE draft, Graves was invited on as a commentator. He later joined as an official member. SmackDown. Currently, he’s still on the Raw Commentary teamHeel color commentary with Jimmy Smith and Byron Saxton.

Right now, it’s unknown whether or not Corey Graves wanted to return to wrestling for some time, or if this is just a recent decision. This could indicate that Graves will be used by WWE. Royal RumbleHe could be re-entered the roster. At this point, Graves is only allowed to compete after he has received medical clearance. He could also wrestle, but that’s all we know.

A visit to the Royal Rumble would be a great idea. Most likely the ceiling for Corey Graves’ potential return. Graves could be allowed to participate in the 24/7 Championship sketches as he held the title for a short time in November 2021. Graves could also use Graves to get a heel over in case a wrestler becomes upset or decides to quit. Graves will be tested on a table.

One thing we can confirm is that comebacks such as this are not rare in the wrestling industry. Edge is a good example.. In 2011, Edge had to retire from professional wrestling after doctors discovered that he was at risk of paralysis and further injury. Edge was able to compete in the ring as a roster member and received full medical clearance. Comebacks like these do happen, so it’s not hard to believe Corey Graves has a wrestling comeback in the works.

Graves may be asking for his wishes in this tweet, in which he seems to have referred back to his past as an indie wrestler.
