Is Michael Myers weak at Halloween Ends?

Looking back on 2018, David Gordon Green’s Halloween essentially brought the franchise back to its roots and gave the fans what they want: a familiar Michael Myers.

Halloween Kills, on the other hand, gave audiences the most ferocious and powerful incarnation of Haddonfield’s boogeyman to date. The series was faster in terms of kills and the actual kills were the most brutal and exaggerated.

The final act of the film suggested that there would never be a way to take down Michael but the final instalment in David and Blumhouse’s trilogy marks a change of pace.

You won’t find the iconic villain on the same form as he was in Halloween Kills, that’s for sure. Why is Michael Myers so weak in Halloween Ends, you ask?

Is Michael Myers weak at Halloween Ends?

Halloween Ends takes place four years after the events of Halloween Kills and he’s notably much weaker in this latest instalment. Well, that’s because he’s spent four years living in a sewer surviving off scraps, whether that’s food or victims to kill.

We learn that a homeless man has been bringing him small amounts of food and people to murder every now and then, but it’s implied that he has remained hidden in the shadows of the sewers this entire time.

Kills mentions Laurie that Michael’s killings make him more transcendent. So, it’s understandable that he’s weaker and more human now he’s not been killing frequently at all, not to mention days upon days he was likely to have starved.

Halloween and Halloween Kills were both held on the same night as Michael’s escape from the institution. He was well taken care of and quickly got to killing. However, his isolation in the sewers has proved to be a disadvantage.

However, he grows stronger as he continues to kill more.

‘He’s a kind of animal’

During a conversation The AV Club, David was asked if Michael is specifically interested in pursuing Laurie or if it’s simply circumstantial:

“I like to not really define that, but I also make sure that I’ve created a story where you could point to none of that. And so there’s always a justification that he will be there, outside of stalking Laurie. I think in the reality of his psyche, maybe there’s a familiarity that he sees.”

He also added: “But I think he’s a kind of animal that isn’t bringing a grudge, a vengeance. He’s a monster that’s on a path, and if you get in the way, you’re going to get fed up.”

Is Halloween the final movie?

Ends is confirmed as the last Blumhouse movie, bringing David’s trilogy to a definitive close. However, Jason Blum has confirmed that it won’t be the last in the franchise.

“I didn’t say it’s gonna be the last Halloween movie,”He said ScreenRant. “It’s our last Halloween movie. We have no more rights to make any more Halloween, so it goes back to Malek [Akkad]. And what he does, only he knows, but we are done.”

The Halloween series will continue to grow, even though no new movie has been released.
