Is Law and Order: SVU Required to Professionally Separate Rollins And Carisi Following The Risky Case

Spoilers ahead to Episode 14 Law & Order: SVUSeason 23, also known as “Video Killed The Radio Star.”

Law & Order: SVUEach week raises the stakes, but the drama got personal. RollinsAnd CarisiIn “Video Killed The Radio Star”Carisi was not pleased when she went undercover, off-script. They had just disclosed their relationship to each other to their bosses in an episode. This tension was probably inevitable on a show like SVU. It leaves me to wonder if Rollins and Carisi should be professionally separated or can they stay together even when Rollins is in danger?

To the horror of Rollins, an undercover Rollins claimed that Amanda Jones was Amanda Jones and that the case had been thrown off track. BensonRollins wanted to find a rapist by himself without Carisi’s badge. Benson suggested that he be undercover, and he did. But there was tension.

Or, even more precisely, before DisclosureTheir work relationship was enhanced by romance! Benson called Rollins out specifically for her tendency to act more recklessly in order to harm herself whenever she feels too happy. Carisi, however, has clearly been making her happy. And it’s hard to argue that Rollins wasn’t being at least a little bit reckless with how she rolled with the punches of the case, to the point that I – paranoid SVU viewer that I am – was nervous every time she sipped from a drink that the baddie of the week poured her. Carisi was also nervous when I was there.

He was also more huffy than usual, probably even more than he would have before they revealed. It seemed like their work relationship was more stressful than usual, which makes me wonder if it would be best for their romantic relationship to keep them apart professionally. Carisi is now an ADA. If he wants to go out with Special Victims, it might be best if he doesn’t partner with Rollins.

Despite that, Carisi’s joke about Rollins not cooking was my favorite part of the episode. That wouldn’t have happened back in the days when they were careful to not tip people off, so I don’t complain. I’m curious to find out if and how. SVUThey will discuss how their relationship influences their workplace dynamic going forward.

If it weren’t for the expansion of this idea, I might be even more alarmist about the thought. L&Ouniverse now that Organized CrimeThe original is entering its third season of Season 2. Law & OrderThis is it. Carisi could also lend his talents to one of these shows. SVUThere is plenty of work to be done in the courtroom, even if he ends up spending less time with his old unit.

See what happens next for Rollisi – hopefully including that family dinner with Carisi’s mom on the way – with new episodes of Law & Order: SVUOn Thursdays, at 9 p.m. ET on NBCIn the 2022 TV Schedule, there will be between Law & Order(which will soon bring you a classic “ripped from the headlines”Episode at 8 p.m. Law & Order: Organized Crime10:00 p.m.
