Some people had never heard about Animal Kingdom until they tuned into the episode 1 in 2016.
Others had seen the 2010 David Michôd movie of the same name it was based on, impressed by the filmmaker’s gritty, unrestrained approach and terrific performances from the central ensemble.
Jonathan Lisco’s American drama series TNT took a similar approach to engulfing viewers in Janine’s dark, but still immersive world. “Smurf” Cody. It was easy to build a loyal following that has stayed with the show for six seasons.
Alas, the time has come once again to contemplate the project’s future. Is Animal Kingdom renewed in season 7?

TNT confirmed Animal Kingdom’s sixth and final season.
TVLineIt was actually January 2021 that the news broke, so writers had ample time to prepare the final season and provide an enjoyable conclusion for the audience. So, it’s at least encouraging to learn the show wasn’t pulled before it could finish wrapping up character arcs.
The sixth season has 13 episodes. As such, fans have still a lot of episodes to look forward too before saying goodbye.
The series will end on Sunday, August 28, 2022 if there are no hiatuses.
Animal Kingdom fans will be puzzled as to why it is ending
TNT and the creators did not offer a clear explanation for why the series ended in season 6.
However, Get distractedThis could be due to a recent shift towards unscripted TNT content.
This is an option. It could also be that the series is over and the crew prefers to end on a high rather than continue too long. It’s a good run of six seasons, and there are many great shows that have had shorter runs.

‘It’s all somehow topped’
Speak with What To Watch, Ben Robson (who plays Craig) weighed in on season 6 and why it’s set to top all previous:
“I think season 6 is the amalgamation of all the choices, risks and punts they took and in season 6 they get pinned into their most difficult corner as to how they’re going to escape. So I think what you’re looking at is the real high octane, big decision-making, all on the line, all-in sort of problems they have to resolve.”
He also added: “It’s all somehow topped in [season] 6 because you have the whole history of the last five years that informs the problems that will arise in the season. It makes for some pretty compelling watching.”
