Apple users have been confused by a MYSTERY icon that appears in the iPhone status bar.
The icon looks like a small card with a human silhouette – and it’s not instantly clear what it means.

iPhone Pass is meant as a symbol for a Staff pass.
This is because you can use it to indicate that your iPhone has been set up for Work Focus.
Focus was introduced in iOS 15, as an evolutionary step from Do Not Disturb.
You can switch on or off the Personal Focus mode, among others, by selecting one of several Focus modes. SleepThe Work.
It is possible to create your own Focus, and you can give it the name and icon that suits you.
But Work is one of the default Focus modes and – among other things – lets you silence personal chats.
You can use it to focus your attention on the work at hand and not be distracted by unrelated apps.
Swipe into the Control Center first to control or change a Focus.
If you have an iPhone that has Face ID enabled, swipe from the upper-right corner of the screen.
Swipe up on the iPhone if it has a home button.
Look for the Focus icon. It should be a grayed out photo of a crescent if Focus is not active.
Tap the button once and you’ll be able to choose from any of your Focus modes – including any custom ones that you’ve set up.
You can choose the length of time that a Focus will run and schedule it to start at specific times.
Follow the same steps to switch off Focus mode.
