Indulge in McVitie’s Limited-Edition ‘Nostalgic’ Flavors – A Sweet Tooth’s Dream Come True!

Transforming Classic Treats: McVitie’s Unveils Limited-Edition Cake Bars and Iced Gems

Sweet tooths are in for a treat after a snacks giant reinvented two of its classic products with a nostalgic twist. McVitie’s has announced the release of limited-edition Cake Bars and Iced Gems Candy Floss, which are set to be hitting supermarket shelves in the coming weeks.

Eton Mess and Lemon Meringue Cake Bars: A Trip Down Memory Lane

The brand-new Cake Bars are available in two tantalizing and nostalgic flavors – Eton Mess and Lemon Meringue. Those eager to transport themselves down memory lane can indulge in the Eton Mess Cake Bar, a strawberry-flavored cake bar filled with light and fluffy cream, crunchy meringue pieces, and a decadent milk chocolate coating.

Refreshing Citrus Burst with Lemon Meringue Cake Bar

For those craving a refreshing burst of citrus, the Lemon Meringue Cake Bar offers a zingy lemon sponge filled with zesty lemon cream, crisp meringue swirls, sugar pearls, all enveloped in rich milk chocolate. Both flavors come in packs of five, individually wrapped for the perfect on-the-go snack.

Playful Twist: Iced Gems Candy Floss Flavor
McVitie’s is also releasing the limited-edition Iced Gems Candy Floss flavor, adding a playful twist to a classic family favorite. Miniature crisp, crunchy biscuits are adorned with a swirl of fluffy cotton candy sweetness, reimagining the beloved classic flavor.

Availability and Excitement
The McVitie’s Cake Bars will debut in UK supermarkets from March 18, while the Iced Gems Candy Floss will first appear on Iceland shelves starting March 25, with other supermarkets following suit from April. Adam Wolf, marketing director at McVitie’s, expressed his enthusiasm for the two new summer snacking additions, specially crafted to evoke classic, nostalgic flavors beloved by consumers.

Mixed Reviews and Biscuit Revival
In recent times, McVitie’s has seen mixed reviews over the re-release of their White Chocolate Digestive biscuits, with some expressing disappointment while others rushed to grab the revamped version of the treat after almost 20 years of discontinuation. The biscuit features the classic digestive base covered with a layer of white chocolate and is priced affordably at less than £2 for a pack of 15.
During a Christmas episode of Channel 4’s Inside McVities, it was revealed that the biscuit brand closely monitored social media reactions to gauge the public response, which varied. Some critics pointed out issues with the chocolate-to-biscuit ratio, with one TikTok user expressing disappointment in the lack of white chocolate flavor, overshadowed by the digestive biscuit taste.
