‘I Haven’t Done Anything Wrong, on Any Level’

James Corden might not be all that remorseful about the incident that got him temporarily banned from New York’s famed Balthazar, which he reportedly already apologized for. In a new interview this week, Corden maintained that he hadn’t “done anything wrong, on any level.”

Corden’s words came in a new interview with The New York TimesJust a few days ago, Keith McNally, a restauranteur, called out Corden via Instagram for verbally abusing his waitstaff. According to The NYT, Corden was verbally abusive towards his waitstaff on Thursday. “Late Late Show”While eating in Manhattan’s restaurant, the host conducted the interview with the reporter. He overheard another customer complaining to a waiter about her order of eggs. Corden pointed out that he would never make the mistake of calling her out online.

“Can you imagine now, if we just blasted her on Twitter? Would that be fair?”He stated. “This is my point. It’s insane.”

Corden was referring to an earlier week, when McNally shamed him publicly on Instagram and called Corden “a tiny Cretin of a man”And “the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago.”

The post was used to highlight two incidents that led to Corden being banned from the restaurant. McNally posted a Monday night update, stating that Corden had acknowledged his actions and asked forgiveness.

But, in conversation with the New York Times, Corden downplayed the issue, saying that he didn’t want any praise for not cancelling the interview in an effort to avoid talking about McNally’s post.

“I haven’t done anything wrong, on any level,” Corden said. “So why would I ever cancel this? I was there. I get it. I feel so Zen about the whole thing.”

Corden stated that the whole situation was “so silly”And questioned why anyone cared. “I just think it’s beneath all of us,”He continued. “It’s beneath you. It’s certainly beneath your publication.”

McNally claims Corden, however, is not Corden “apologized profusely”After his first Instagram post, he called out the host.

“James Corden just called me and apologized profusely. Having f—ed up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances,”McNally wrote. “So if James Corden lets me host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I’ll immediately rescind his ban from Balthazar.”

McNally said that he was only joking about this particular clause, and not about the ban being lifted.

“Anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar,”He concluded.
