A WIFE is threatening to leave her husband if he doesn’t start calling her by her unusual nickname – but he finds it unbelievably annoying.
Most parents come up with a list of potential baby names when they’re expecting, and if they don’t know the sex of the baby, they’ll usually make a list of options for boys and girls.

One couple was going to name their baby boy Michael. But the baby ended up being a girl.
However, they decided to name their daughter Michael and it stuck.
The name Michael is the most common for the woman, so she introduces herself as Michael.
Now that she’s grown up and married, her husband finds it impossible to call his wife “Michael”, and it’s causing serious problems.
According to her husband, this is “teeth-grindingly annoying”, as he explained on Reddit.
He explained that “my wife was supposed to have a boy’s name.” She was not a boy, but her parents had named her Michael.
“But, for whatever reason they made Michael her nickname and everyone calls Michael that. Her name isn’t Michael.
“When I first met her, it was kinda cute that everybody called her that. It’s annoying now. My wife is rarely called by her real name. Her parents, friends, family, coworkers – she’ll tell complete strangers to call her Michael.”
The man is at the end of his tether and will no longer accept his wife’s nickname.
“As I stated, it’s not cute or just annoying to hear Michael’s name thrown out at our marriage.
“I asked her if she can stop using the nickname or switch to a feminine nickname like Michelle.
“She said Michael is her name, and she shot me down. I replied that it isn’t! We got into a small argument where I pointed out she’s not taking my feelings into consideration here!”
The couple’s marriage is now under serious strain as a result.
He was furious: “She told my to leave the house and to come back when I want to speak. It’s mine too! At the end, my wife grabbed a bag and went over to her brother.
“I called her once she seemed to have cooled down. I asked again if it was for our marital sake that she stop using the nickname. She hang up on me. I’m not asking for much. Just don’t want people calling my wife Michael anymore!”
Commenters weren’t impressed with the man’s attitude.
One wrote: “Grow the hell up. The only person who matters here is your wife as it is her choice as to what to be called and if she is introducing herself and perfectly happy with the name Michael then that’s it. End of story.”
