“In the comfort of having them around, I forgot that they have dreams, too,”She thought. She remembered that she had discovered a number of pamphlets about Florida retirement communities crumpled up in her trash and hidden them in the trash earlier in the day.

Jacob was at the end of his rope. The switch had flipped in Jacob’s head and the man who had been treating his wife and child well was now packing for the boy frantically.

“Jacob, darling, what are you—”
“I don’t want to hear it! Just pack his things. I don’t want your son living with us!” Jacob blurted.
Monica was shocked by the comment of her husband. “What do you mean? Where am I supposed to send him? You can’t just abandon our son like that!”
“YOUR son!”Monica was corrected by Jacob, and Jacob continued to load clothes into the suitcase.
Monica was trying to find words to calm Jacob but he made another shocking statement.
“You know what? You should leave, too. You are not going to allow me a second of peace being away from your son. So go be with that ungrateful child!”Jacob continued to mutter and swatted Monica’s hands when she tried calm him down.
“Where are we supposed to go now in the middle of the night?”Monica looked out from her corner at her boy and asked the heavens.
She was half-afraid to tell the boy off. Monica, his mother, understood the pain that the tantrum-throwing boy was attempting to mask.
With nowhere else to go for the night, the mother and son took a taxi to the place they had called home for four years — Monica’s parents’ house. They had some time to enjoy the old house before the sale.

Monica would spend her days scouting new areas to live in the area where she grew-up. After a night of sleepless nights, Monica would return to her house, still heartbroken over her failed relationships and unhappy lives.

Monica and Shaun were stunned when the kid suddenly asked Shaun for his help. “So, can I call you daddy already? Or do I have to wait till you ask her to marry you?”
In shock, the couple looked at each other and then burst into laughter. This was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
