One Corrie fan shared his thoughts on where the soap is headed.

Superfan claimed the show needed to improve its characters. She said that many of the newly introduced cobbles residents are forgettable, and don’t have much impact.
The life-long fan of the show argued that legends of recent times such as Becky McDonald, played by Katherine Kelly, Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) and Catherine Tyldesley’s character Eva Price had been replaced by much inferior characters.
The superfan wrote on the site: “I think number 1 is characters. There are many great characters that aren’t here anymore.
“It makes me sad that modern day legends like Eva, Becky, Kylie and Tina seem to have been replaced by absolute nobodies hardly anyone will probably remember when they leave.”
A fellow fan replied and echoed similar thoughts arguing the show’s character was lacking strong family units.
In response, they said: “For me there’s a noticeable lack of strong family units. We used to have the Platts, the Battersbys, the Barlows, the Connors, the Grimshaws, the Windasses, the Websters.”
Of the families listed only the Platt’s and Barlow’s remain – but for the Barlow clan, only Tracy, her daughter Amy and father Ken arrived more than 10 years ago.
They further went onto criticise the addition of character purely to aid someone else’s storyline as opposed to arriving on the street naturally, a practise which Corrie bosses have seen on the rise in recent years.
They called them and newcomers The Baileys forgettable and added: “The Baileys are awful and all the other new characters feel thrown in at random just for plot points – Nina, Emma, Kelly, Leo, Curtis, Corey, Alina. I can’t see myself caring about any of them in 10, 20 years.”
