Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has graced the big screens since 2008, has captured audiences’ attention and brought some of our favorite comic-book heroes to life. The films’ premieres have become a global hit as the popularity of the comics has grown.

They have some of Marvel Comics’ most memorable stories and are some the highest-grossing movies in history. Marvel movies are worth watching at any time.

Many people will watch them over and again trying to figure out the intricate stories. You’ll see them on Disney Plus. This is the chronological guide to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

There is definitely a case to that. You’ll be getting the same experience that millions of other viewers have who have watched them all in movie theaters since 2008. You’d see jumping back and forth between the beginning of the Avengers, the backstories for many of the principal superheroes, and just how in the world different galaxies and planets are linked to the storylines we’ve seen on Earth.

However, it can cause you to travel back and forth in your time quite a bit, which can lead to some confusing trends.

If you want to watch all 26 movies in a row, you very well may be able to keep track of the storylines because they’d be fresh in your mind. These movies have been rolled out over 16 years, which is enough to show that there’s a lot of information.

Even those who work for Marvel can have trouble remembering details. You should watch the Marvel movies in order to understand the storylines. You will have a lot of fun following the Infinity Saga (the first three stages of the MCU).

Anybody can enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe (unless you’re Martin Scorsese, maybe.)

It is important to remember that you can get a refund if you do not pay your bill in full. don’t want to know more about plot lines, you can avoid the trailers and the descriptions and look at the order of the films. It makes perfect sense to go back to the beginning of the stories. It would be Captain America.

Marvel movies in chronological order of release

Captain America: The First Avenger

Steve Rogers’s storyline starts in 1942 during World War II, as he becomes a super soldier to help the United States fight against Hydra. Captain America: The First AvengerThis story was first published in 2011.

The film follows Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), as he goes through the process of being rejected for World War II recruiting and then taking part in an injection trial to create super soldiers. As you can see in the trailer, Dr. Abraham Erskine is offering that injection, which was based on Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) technology.

You meet Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Steve’s best friend, as well as Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), a U.S. Army officer. This is a brief history of Steve Rogers, and how he became the legendary icon. “first Avenger.”

Captain Marvel

Iron Man

We are now at the place where the MCU officially started. 2008’s Iron ManIt is where all of it began. Tony Stark (RDJ) is the first person you meet. He escapes a terrorist cell, and creates a technologically advanced suit to be Iron Man. Surprisingly, the movie was #8 in worldwide box office. However, it set a precedent for the future of entertainment. (It fought with DC Comics that year. The Dark KnightThe #1 slot.

The film takes place in 2010 and was the beginning of Marvel’s “Phase 1”. Virginia awaits you “Pepper” Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), Tony’s personal assistant, as well as James “Rhodey”Rhodes (Terrence Henry), the liaison between Stark Industries & the United States Air Force. Agent Coulson also appears as does Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), Tony’s driver and bodyguard. Paul Bettany stars as J.A.R.V.I.S. Stark’s artificial intelligence. This set the scene for many of our storylines in 2010 and beyond.

Iron Man 2

Don Cheadle becomes War Machine, taking over the mantle as Rhodes. Fury and Potts are back, as is Happy and Coulson. The Incredible Hulk

The Incredible HulkThis is our first glimpse at the green hero. Universal Studios made HulkThe 2003 film starred Eric Bana and received mixed reviews. Marvel Studios acquired the rights to the character, while Universal retained distribution rights. Edward Norton assumed the role of Bruce Banner, which was previously held by Bana. The events of this film take place around the time that Edward Norton died. Iron Man. The film premiered approximately one month later in 2008. Iron Man.

This movie sets the scene for the next Thor films, and a fourth is in the works. This movie features Agent Coulson, which may be a sign that you are beginning to see a pattern. This one also features Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner).

The Avengers

The events of ThorNow, let’s get to the conclusion “Phase One”The Infinity Saga. The AvengersThe film was released in 2012, and it is set in 2012. It was directed by Joss Whedon and shows what Nick Fury was doing all that time. It was the third most-grossing film ever, with $1.5 billion. The film brought together all the major superheroes from previous films to work together to save Earth.

Loki, as you may be familiar, has a lengthy storyline in Marvel Comics, including his own TV Show. He attempts to become Earth’s ruler and the Avengers are forced to stop him. Mark Ruffalo assumes the role of Bruce Banner. Under Fury’s guidance, Stark, Banner and Romanoff lead the charge. Thor, Barton and Rogers follow. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, makes her debut. The Infinity Saga’s villain will be introduced in the scene after credit.

Iron Man 3

“Phase 2”We are now at the Infinity Saga. Iron Man 3. This film was released six months after the events in 2013. The Avengers. This film is more personal, as Tony struggles with the effects of the previous film. It earned over $1.2 Billion worldwide.

Iron Man 3expands on Rhodes, Potts, and Stark’s arcs as well as brings us more Happy Hogan. Tony must fight the Ten Rings terrorist group from the original Iron ManFilm again. Favreau has decided to not direct the Iron Man movie.

Thor: The Dark World

The second Thor movie. Thor: The Dark WorldFollows the events of The AvengersAlso, Hemsworth, Hiddleston reprised their roles as Loki and Thor in the film’s 2013 release. It is the first Thor film to be written by Christopher Markus (the director) and Stephen McFeeley (the writer). Captain America: The First AvengerHe went on to create many more MCU films. Loki and Thor must work together to stop the Dark Elves attempting to take over the Nine Realms.

Portman, Dennings, and Skarsgård all return, as do Idris Elba as Heimdall, Rene Russo as Frigga, Hopkins as Odin, and Jaimie Alexander as Sif. Ray Stevenson plays Volstagg again, while Tadanobu Asano reprises his role as Hogun. Zachary Levi is now Fandral (another member of the Warriors Three). These scenes serve as a prelude to upcoming movies.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

As you might have guessed, we checked in on two Avengers in stand-alone sequels. Now we get Captain America’s turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This follows on from the events of The Avengers It was established in 2014. Rogers joined S.H.I.E.L.D. Romanoff/Black Widow, and Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon (Anthony Mackie), is tasked with uncovering a conspiracy at the agency. Joe Russo and Anthony Russo directed the film.

The Winter Soldier is trying to stop them, but there’s more to it than you might expect. S.H.I.E.L.D. is played by Brock Rumlow (Frank Grillo), and Sharon Carter (Emily Van Camp). agents. Robert Redford stars Alexander Pierce (a senior official at S.H.I.E.L.D.). Fury, Hill (Peggy Carter), and Barnes all return. Dr. Arnim Zola (Toby Jones) also returns. Guardians of the Galaxy

The ability to change from Earth to space Guardians of the GalaxyThis gives us the best insight into what all the galactic villains are trying to do: Infinity Stones. This film was directed and written by James Gunn and released in 2014. The Guardians of the Galaxy may not be as well-known today as Captain America, but they are still well-known. This story follows a group of criminals from outer space who try to outrun villains looking for what they have stolen.

Peter Quill (a.k.a. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), is the leader of this group. His crew includes Drax (Dave Bautista), Gamora, Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Gamora and Zoe Saldana), as well as Groot (Vin Diesel). The trailer will show that Quill is human, while the other characters are not. Yondu (Michael Rooker), leader of another criminal organization, Nebula [Karen Gillan], the lieutenant for Ronan (Lee Pace), as well as The Collector (Benicio Del Toro) make their MCU debuts. You’re sure to love the soundtrack of this movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Avengers: Age of Ultron

In Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Avengers must reunite once again to save our world. Joss Whedon directed and wrote this movie, which was released in 2015. In this film James Spader, the villain Ultron (James Spader), is introduced to the action. It is an artificial intelligence that was created to eradicate mankind. This story brings together many characters we’ve come to know on Earth.

Black Widow and Thor are joined by Hawkeye, Iron Man, Captain America, Iron Man and Hulk to defeat Ultron. In their full film debuts, we see Pietro (Aaron Taylor Johnson) and Wanda Maximoff(Elizabeth Olsen). Wanda, just like Loki got her own show. Bettany is back as J.A.R.V.I.S. Vision is also featured in this film. We learn more details about Thanos (Josh Brolin), which is the villain overarching in the Infinity Saga.

Ant-Man

Wrapping up “Phase 2”The Infinity Saga: Ant-Man. This was published in 2015, and was set shortly after the events in 2015. Avengers: Age of Ultron. It is much smaller than the epics of the Avengers movies. We meet Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) as well as Evangeline Lilly as Hank’s daughter, Hope.

Hank was a former S.H.I.E.L.D. An employee who worked in shrinking technologies while wearing a suit. Lang is a former criminal that Pym recruits for a heist. Corey Stoll plays Darren Cross, who has his own shrinking technology and fights Ant-Man. In the post-credit scenes, you find out more about this film’s sequel and how these stories can connect to the Avengers.

MCU Phase 3 – Opening

Captain America Civil War

These are the ramifications that have such huge repercussions Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America Civil WarThe film then focuses on how the Avengers must deal with the events. The film was released in 2016, shortly after the release of the previous Avengers film. The Avengers are divided on how they should handle their responsibilities. This film is the second directed by the Russo Brothers for the franchise. It also features the fifth script written by Markus and McFeely.

This movie is packed with amazing fight scenes, and lots of “which side are you on?”This dialogue brings back many of the main characters while introducing new ones. Rogers is trying to protect Barnes and Stark believe the Avengers require some governance. This movie is built around conflict.

Black Widow

Massive delays caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic Black Widow wasn’t released until 2021 but takes place in 2016. Technically a part of the MCU’s “Phase 4”, this gives us the backstory on Natasha Romanoff that we hadn’t had before. You don’t find out much of her history until this film. Johansson is back in the film, and Cate Shortland directs it. Eric Pearson wrote the script with a story written by Jac Schaeffer. WandaVision was created by Schaeffer.

It shows us Romanoff’s childhood and how she became Black Widow. We also meet her sister Yelena (Florence Pugh) as well as her childhood guardians Alexei Shostakov and Melina Vostokoff. Thaddeus Ross also appears in the film. A post-credit scene moves a good deal forward in time.

Spider-Man’s Homecoming

After meeting Peter Parker, Tom Holland in Captain America Civil WarHis first MCU movie is made. Spider-Man’s Homecoming. In 2016, the same year that it was established Civil WarAnd Black Widow,This movie premiered in 2017. We learn the story behind Peter Parker’s transformation into Spider-Man, and how Tony Stark helped him to become a web-slinger.

Parker must manage high school students and the challenges of being a super hero. He must keep his identity secret. Stark, Pepper Potts and Happy Hogan guide him as he tries to save the planet. In this film, you get more from Parker’s Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon), and you meet Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), Liz (Laura Harrier), a love interest of Peter’s, Michelle (Zendaya), a classmate of Peter’s, and more. This is Rogers’s most memorable appearance in any film.

Doctor Strange

You are whisked away to a world full of mystic arts. Doctor StrangeThe story of Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is told. This movie has been released before Spider-Man’s Homecoming(2016), but it is also set prior to it and at the same time (2016-2017). It was directed and produced by Scott Derrickson. The film grossed $677.7 millions at the box office.

Shaping realities and manipulating time are key components of this film’s storyline. Tilda SWInton is the Ancient One and takes Strange under her wing. You meet Karl Mordo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Wong (Benedict Wong), both Masters of the Mystic Arts. Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) is Strange’s love interest. Mads Mikkelsen portrays Kaecilius (another Master who went down the wrong road).

Black Panther

Black Panther For his first film, he brings to life one of the most beloved Marvel Comics characters. This brings the origin story of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), the King of the African nation, Wakanda. After meeting T’Challa in Civil WarYou will be able to follow his story both before and after the events in the Marvel movie. Ryan Coogler directed this film. The film debuted in 2018 following the 2017 events. The film earned $1.3 billion worldwide.

Eric is introduced in the film. “Killmonger” Stevens (Michael B. Jordan), who tries to take over the throne from T’Challa, Okoye (Danai Gurira) the head of the Dora Milaje, Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), a Wakandan spy, Shuri (Letitia Wright), T’Challa’s sister, to name a few. Martin Freeman returns to Everett K. Ross’s role. Also, John Kani reprises his role as T’Challa’s father, T’Chaka.

Thor: Ragnorok

With the third Thor movie, we head back into the universe. Thor: Ragnorok. The film was directed and premiered by Taika Waititi in 2017. The film takes place at the same moment as Black PantherSome of these are Doctor Strange. This is exactly two years later Age of Ultron. It unites Thor and Hulk in space.

Thor (Cate Blanchett) must flee one planet to get home to Asgard and rescue it from Hela. Loki is back to fight alongside Hulk, Thor and Tessa Thompson. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), joins the team for the fight. The soundtrack for this movie is great and many of the characters we’ve seen in previous Thor films also pop up. Jeff Goldblum is the star of the movie. Also, the scene in the middle of the credits sets up the next movie.

Avengers: Infinity War

Thanos’s quest for the Infinity Stones is in full force in Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers directed the film again in 2018. McFeely wrote the script and Markus directed the film. It is currently the fourth highest-grossing film. It earned more than $2.1 Billion at the worldwide box office.

This film is so large that almost all the heroes we’ve met are in it. In an intergalactic battle for control, the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers face off against Thanos. Thanos is determined to wipe out all life in the universe. This film is undoubtedly the greatest in the MCU. We learned so much from the spoilers that we will be watching this film in the future.

Ant-Man and The Wasp

In 2017, the same time as Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and The WaspThis film takes place mostly in San Francisco. Hope Van Dyne stars as Wasp in this film, complete with her shrinking technology suit. It debuted in 2018 just three months after its original release. Infinity War. Peyton Reed was back to direct his Ant-Man 2nd film.

Hank Pym makes a return and the film discusses Quantum Realm. Lang’s crew of Luis (Michael Peña), Dave (Tip Harris), and Kurt (David Dastmalchian) all return. A few new characters are also introduced. The scene in the middle of credits is crucial for moving forward.

Avengers: Endgame

How to deal with the repercussions Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame spans between 2017-2022 on the film’s timeline. The film was released by the Russo Brothers in 2019, and was written by Markus McFeely and directed by them again. Avengers: EndgameThe film grossed $2.79 Billion worldwide and set the record for highest-grossing film until March 2021.

Many fans had theories and spoilers about the film’s release. This trailer is just one of many that we covered leading up to its release.

We won’t give too much away, but the superheroes take up the fight once more to set things right after the last Avengers movie. They must do. “whatever it takes”. Captain Marvel also joins in the fight, as you can see in the trailer.

Celestials created The Eternals to protect humanity.
