Hartlaub claims that you can make a delicious high-protein pizza dough from a can of chicken. One large egg, a 10-ounce chicken can, and half of a cup of Parmesan cheese will do.

Hartlaub uses real Parmesan cheese, but she admits that fake parmesan cheese from the green bottle is better. Once the ingredients have been combined, Hartlaub sprinkles with oregano and dried basil. The dough is then shaped on a baking sheet with parchment paper. Then she bakes it in a preheated oven for 20 minutes at 425°F.

Hartlaub cleverly finishes Hartlaub’s chicken pie crust by adding sugar-free BBQ sauce to it, shredded Monterey cheddar, sliced red onions, and bacon before returning it back to the oven for a final bake. She doesn’t specify for how long, but we’d suggest putting it under your oven’s broiler for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese and crisp up the bacon.

Despite Hartlaub’s delicious low-carb pizza hack, some fans were confused by canned chicken, having never heard of it before. “Did you just say ‘a can’ of chicken? What in the USA,”One person commented.

Canned chicken can be added to sandwiches and salads, just like tuna fish. After the chicken has been fully cooked, drain it before making a buffalo chicken dip or a pizza crust.

As Hartlaub’s video demonstrates, the final product looks remarkably like normal thin-crust pizza dough. The crust can be combined with egg and cheese and it will hold up well. It may even become crispy depending on how long you cook.
