How can I clean my retainer

There are many easy ways to clean a retainer.

You can clean your retainer by simply washing it in warm water and gently brushing it with dish soap. WedMD.

You can also use baking soda, vinegar, or denture cleaners.

As per Central Coast Orthodontics: “Typically, the ‘bad guys’ that cause trouble in the mouth thrive in a more acidic environment, and baking soda combats this problem by neutralising the pH of the mouth and rebalancing the oral microbiome. Likewise, baking soda can also disinfect retainers by virtue of its higher pH.”

Each hack is different depending on the retainer being used. It is therefore important to consult your dentist before you start.
