What happened to Billy Brown?

Bear Brown revealed that his father Billy died from a seizure on February 7.

He posted the sad news via social media: “We are heartbroken that announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown died last night after suffering from seizures.

“He was our best friend. He was a wonderful, loving dad, granddad, husband and will be greatly missed. He lived his life according to his rules, without the grid or the land. We learn from him how to live that way.

Adding: “We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream.”

The family also asked for “privacy and prayers” during the difficult time.

Why did Alaskan Bush People move to Alaska?

Originally, the family was located near Hoonah, Alaska, or “Browntown” as the family called it.

Browntown was a series home that the Browns built from materials sourced from the Alaskan bush.

Ami, Ami’s matriarch, was diagnosed with sudden cancer. The Browns moved to Alaska.

Browntown was lost, so the Browns purchased a 435-acre property at the North Cascade Mountains in Washington State. They wanted to be closer Los Angeles. Bill and Ami travel there every three months to check on her.
