90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 DaysIt is well-known for its awkward moments. perhaps more soMore than any other spinoff from the franchise. With that, The majority of the cringey situations areTLC shows that TLC cast members are often the ones who make these episodes happen, not the show’s creative staff.
There’s always a first time for everything, though, and I feel the latest episode took things a BIT too far when it came to how (and how long) Alina KashaAnd Caleb Greenwood’s bedroom scene played out.

Caleb and Alina returned to their hotel room from dinner with a friend. Alina and Caleb were surprised when one thing led another. Foreplay is the most important act. These actions suggested that things would only get more intimate once the cameras turned off. However, the problem is that the cameras did not fade to black. Instead, they stayed focused on the couple as they slowly undress and made out for quite a while.

I watched the entire sequence from start-to-finish. It lasted just over two minutes. This may not seem like much on paper but it was almost like watching a TV couple get into a relationship for the first time in their lives. I’ll argue that I got the gist of what was happening at the 20-second mark, meaning everything beyond that just felt excessive, making for a borderline voyeuristic experience. Maybe it wouldn’t have felt so icky if it was the norm for this franchise. But it isn’t. As this fan has shown, I am not the only one thinking in that direction.

That I will admit 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days spent a lot of time in the past couple of episodes focusing on Alina’s worry that Caleb wasn’t interested in having physical intimacy with her. However, the episode started with them stating that they had made significant progress in that area. Viewers were able to get the idea that things were going well long before the camera stopped rolling and the kissing stopped.

It’s possible that 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 DaysThe scene was kept in place to show how Caleb (standard height) and Alina (who was born with alopecia) compare. Rare form of dwarfism, get physical. Although I understand the appeal of normalizing intimate relationships between lovers who are different in height, it was still a rude act to interfere in their private space. Register now.

All jokes aside 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Daysit holds the title of best spinoff of the franchise in Season 5. Caleb, Alina, and Caleb are certainly a couple I’d like to see in future seasons, though that’s assuming they are still together at the season’s end. Is it possible that their relationship will be affected by their short-term problems? Or is this just a ploy for the cameras? We’ll have to wait to see!
