According to police, at least 14 people were hurt in a drive-by shooting when two gunmen opened fire on a crowd randomly.

Three children were among the victims of the Chicago Halloween Night Carnage, where there was a large crowd for a vigil.

The police said that the gathering was not connected to the shooting and added that at least two shooters were visible on surveillance video.

Superintendent David Brown stated that the victims were a three-year old, an eleven-year old and a thirteen-yearold.

He added: “It’s over by three seconds. The car’s pulling out after driving by and shooting randomly into the crowd.

“We do not have any motive.”

Others were adults in their 30s and 50s who were also wounded by gunfire on Monday night.

Police also stated that a woman who fled the scene of the shooting was hit by a vehicle while she was crossing traffic.

She was in fair health when she was admitted to the hospital.

The Chicago Fire Department said it sent at least 10 ambulances to the scene in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood.

Brown said the victims’ conditions range from non-life threatening injuries to critical condition.

No deaths were reported immediately and police were waiting for the medical treatment of shooting victims to interview them.

Brown stated that the drive-by shooting took place at 9:30 p.m.

It was captured by police surveillance video which investigators are currently reviewing.

According to preliminary information, at least two shooters were seen firing randomly into the crowd.

“We always worry about retaliation obviously, but we don’t know enough about this, whether it involved a gang conflict or some personal conflict yet, but as soon as we know we’ll share that with the public,”Brown was also added.

Andrew Holmes, a community activist said that the children killed in the incident were the victims. “just young.”

“They’re putting on an outfit just to enjoy the evening and then you got a clown that goes and discharges that weapon, bringing great bodily harm to these families,”He saidWGN-TV.

Brown stated that investigators are working to establish a motive, get a description and identify the car and the people responsible. One person was not in custody.

Brown claimed that there were no conflicts on Monday night at the street corner.

He claimed that large groups were gathered at the corner, which is known as a gathering spot in the area.

It follows a violent Halloween weekend that saw at least 26 people killed and over 90 wounded in shootings throughout the US.

Cities including Chicago, Memphis and Denver were rocked by three days of gunfire. Pittsburgh and Houston also saw violence.
