Helen Hoehne re-elected President of the HFPA

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Friday that Helen Hoehne was re-elected as its president by a wide margin.

“I am humbled and truly grateful to be re-elected,”Hoehne made the statement in a statement. “This is a vote of confidence in the changes we have made and the course we have charted in moving the HFPA forward with its reforms towards greater diversity, integrity, and transparency. I am optimistic about our future and the future of the Golden Globes, as well as the impact we hope to have in using this platform to continue our philanthropic efforts.”

Hoehne was elected to HFPA president last September amid the organization’s ongoing reform efforts after backlash about the Golden Globes’ group lack of Black members. She is being re-elected shortly after leading the HFPA’s decision to sell the Golden Globes assets and make the organization private to Todd Boehly, interim CEO. The re-election comes as a result of rumors that the Golden Globes may be returning to NBC in 2023 for their ceremony.

Hoehne started her journalistic career in Germany as a reporter for Bauer Media Group. She wrote for several publications in Germany, including Instyle and Empire magazines, as well Swiss Airlines magazine. Currently, she is a contributor to TV Movie magazine as their U.S. correspondent, one of Germany’s highest circulated bi-weekly television and movie magazines.
